Whew…what a week this has been! I’m finally getting a little caught up and have still had some time do some really fun things in the sun! Seattle has been giving us some gorgeous weather so a friend of mine and I decided to try out stand-up paddle boarding yesterday! It was soooo much fun and such a great work out too. I’m definitely feelin’ the pain this morning : ) I hope everyone is taking a little break to enjoy this beautiful weather.

I’m so excited to finally share this little session I did with a cute, spunky little girl named, Justice.
Justice kind of reminds me of myself when I was a little girl…full of energy and definitely on our own agenda! She would crack me up…in the middle of shooting she would literally get up and walk away saying, “Okay, I’m done with this now.” haha it was really cute actually. Her parents were super laid-back and wonderful and let me and Justice hang out by ourselves for a bit. Thats when the magic started happening, I had this little girl cracking up over the smallest things…(because clearly I’m hilarious right!…Right?!). It made me miss being a little kid and finding joy in the simple things. But thanks to Justice, she reminded me of something great…

That we all need to take a little time to enjoy the simple things in life.

So my friends, be sure to take some time today to stop and listen the sounds around you. Sit in silence and feel yourself breathe…
Enjoy!

Papa Jim had to get in on the action too!

Haha this was the best. After Justice changed into her tutu she was dancin’ around and checking herself out in the mirror. So cute.

Okay, another hilarious story. I asked Justice, “So what does this flower smell like?” and she simply looks at me and says, “Like marshmallows of course!” Haha kids actually do say the darndest things. : )

Where to even begin with this couple!

I’ve known Ashley for a very long time and if there is one thing that I will never ever forget about her…it’s her laugh. Ashley has the best laugh and it is SO contagious! Another reason why I love her laugh is because she can probably relate to me when it comes to laughing so loud people tell you to quiet down. Now that’s a good laugh.

When I found out Ashley was engaged, I was so truly happy for her and right away I wondered who this man was that swept her off her feet! And then I met Shan…
Oh Shan, you couldn’t be more perfect for Ashley and I am so very happy that you two found each other! Our session together was SO MUCH fun, rain and all! There is always something special I experience with every couple I photograph, but I will never forget the feeling I had when we were out at Discovery Park. I can still relive that moment and it almost gives me goosebumps…the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and there was such a strong silence. As I photographed Ashley and Shan laying down on the blanket, little black bunnies surrounded us, the birds began to chirp quietly, and in the distance I could see the storm coming.

The quiet before the storm. Truly.

Then we quickly walked out to the edge to look over the water, and we could literally see the rain hitting the ocean as it got closer and closer. Took just enough photos by the water and then the rain seriously let us have it! We were all completely soaked by the time we reached our cars! This all may sound like nothing too special, but there was such a calm and peaceful feeling in my heart, yet I also felt so alive…

I knew in that moment that this is truly what I am suppose to be doing.

Thank you Ashley and Shan for such an amazing experience, I probably will never forget it. I can’t wait for your wedding this year!
I hope everyone enjoys this post because there is just something about it I hold dear to my heart. Be sure to check back soon for Part 2 of their session!
