NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT…

I feel old.

I feel like time is flying by right before my eyes and I just want it to slow down. I really, really do.
This weekend I did something that I need to do more often. I did something simple, but it gave me so much energy and made me feel so full.
Visiting my sweet little (or not so little anymore) cousins couldn’t have happened at a better time. I love these kids to death, they are the only cousins I have in the state of Washington so they are pretty special to me. I can’t help but feel old after seeing them though…the oldest is basically a MAN now and towers over me…it seems like yesterday I was running around giving him piggyback rides. *sigh*

Time keeps moving along and so do our lives. But one thing doesn’t change for me…family.

My family will always be my favorite thing.

It doesn’t happen all the time, but when I find clients who just get me…like really get me…it makes a world of a difference.
When I find clients who trust me completely, they see my vision and they just let me do my thing…it makes a world of a difference.
But when I find clients who stick with me and they allow me to document their ever-changing lives…this is when it changes my world.

I’ve had the pleasure of watching this little family grow over the years and it has been so much fun! I met Manu almost 4 years ago in school and ever since then I have watched her life change…from being an awesome wife to Daniel, to becoming pregnant with their first child, and now she is now a beautiful mother to little Clara. Manu understands the importance of documenting life and this is why I love her. Clara just turned 1 a few weeks ago and I was so excited when Manu called me to document it. I’m sure Clara is so tired of my huge camera in her face all the time…but I’m sure she’ll thank me later : )

HUTCHINSON’S / FAMILY SESSION

I am so excited to finally put up this family’s full post! I know some of you have been patiently waiting for this post, so thank you for your patience! This family session with Cristina and her two adorable girls was so much fun! These girls are full of energy and personality, they kept me laughing the entire shoot! The last time I saw these girls, they were a lot younger…so it was awesome to see just how much they have grown. And I just love how much they all look alike…I’m seriously so jealous of their gorgeous curls! I am also in love with this shoot because Cristina was on board with doing the shoot at my parents home!

Cristina, thank you so much for choosing me to document your beautiful family! I had so much fun and I can’t wait to photograph you girls again : )

I know this post is a little late but I’m using my blog as a way for me to look back a year from now and read about this day. This day has been so special, not only because it’s Thanksgiving…but because I got to spend the day surrounded by people I love. Living in Seattle is hard sometimes, I wish I was closer to my family. Every time I go back home, it’s so hard to leave. Today I am grateful for so many things…too many to list. But the main thing I am so thankful for today is just the simple fact that God has given me today. Through church and through my own convictions, I’ve been realizing just how important it is to be thankful for today and not worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow is never promised. I know it is so much easier said than done, but it’s so important for us to be grateful for the time we have right now. Regardless of the situations we are in, good or bad, we have to be thankful for today. I’m so grateful for the people God has put in my life lately. Especially the ones who make me realize how precious life is…

Okay, sorry to be all mushy : ) I just can’t help it today! Some other things I am so thankful for…

* My job and all my wonderful clients I have met this year! Words can’t express how grateful I am for each one of you.
* My family. I don’t know what I would do without them.
* My friends and the girls in my community group. Thank you for loving me and helping me grow.
* My church. I feel so blessed to be a part of something so great and to be surrounded by people who love Jesus.
* There are some silly things I’m thankful for too! Like fresh sheets straight out of the dryer.
* My big, comfy, old lady robe I wear in the winter. Don’t hate.
* Tea!!! So comforting. : )
* Classical music. Well music in general…I don’t think I could get through one day without music.
* This blog…I know it sounds silly…but I love that I can write whatever I want and there are some crazy people who actually read it and leave me love all the time. I know all four of you who are reading this blog right now know I’m talking directly to you : ) So thank you for supporting me, it means the world to me!

Alright y’all, that is enough mushy-ness for today. Maybe it’s all the dang food I ate today that has put me in this state, but regardless I’m thankful for today.

MY BROTHER & SISTER / I LOVE THEM.

This post is a little late, but I still want to put it up because this is a post that is really close to my heart.

Both my sister and brothers birthdays are in the month of November so this post is not only to celebrate their birthdays, but also to share just how much love I have for my siblings. I must say that I feel very lucky to have the family I have. I know that some people don’t have siblings or maybe aren’t close to them, but I am SO thankful that God gave me these two wonderful humans : ) We are all SO DIFFERENT (I’m not even kidding) yet we have a bond and understanding that will forever keep us close. Like all siblings, we have our not-so-pretty-moments where we fight and argue, cry and yell…not so much anymore, but I’m still thankful for all those fights as weird as that sounds. Another thing I find fascinating is how each of us have a completely different relationship with our parents, it’s really special. And God bless my poor parents who have to deal with all our crazy different personalities haha!

First up is my brother, Nathen. He is my buddy and my partner in crime. Even though I annoyed the crap out of him when we were little (and probably still do) I know deep down he loves me haha! My brother and I have a special relationship…sometimes I feel like we understand each other on another level that not everyone in my family can relate to. I have so many awesome (and some not-so-awesome) memories of my brother and I growing up, since we are so close in age. I was such a little tomboy growing up…when I was a lot younger I use to tell my mom that it wasn’t fair that my dad and brother got to be outside with their shirts off…so what did I do? Yep…I ran around with no shirt like my dad and brother haha. Don’t worry…I’m over that. : ) Well Nathen, I know you will hate that I put you on the blog, but tough love dude. Happy Birthday and I love you so much!

Next up is my oh-so-beautiful sister, Jonna Jae. Oh where to even start with this lady? My sister and I weren’t always close growing up since we were 5 years apart and I was the annoying little sister who wanted to hang out with her friends all the time. But I can honestly say that my sister is now my best friend. We have grown so close and we have worked on understanding each other better than we use to. My sister and I are quite opposite! I could go on and on about how different we are…yet we are also very similar. Hard to explain really. I have always looked up to my sister, I have always pushed myself to accomplish the things she has and learn from her in every way. My sister is one of the strongest women I know, whether she believes it or not…she has been through things I couldn’t imagine going through. And through it all, she is still always there for me and always looks for the positive in every situation. Jonna, my beautiful sister inside and out, I love you so much and I’m so excited I get to see you tomorrow! I know it may seem that you have a long road ahead of you, but just know that God will always take care of you. Thank you for all that you do for me, words could never express how thankful I am for you. : )
