It all starts with an email.
Which then leads to a meeting over pastries and hot cocoa.
The connection is either there, or it’s not…it’s that simple.

The connection I have with my couples is the most important thing. I’ve been having some awesome, inspiring talks with some of my photography friends and we all seem to be on the same page when it comes to this topic. Photography is something that is an every day part of my life…and I love that. It’s what drives me, it’s what inspires me, it’s what motivates me to push myself creatively. When the connection is present, there is an energy that is undeniable.

I immediately had this connection with Sarah when we met for coffee and I knew their session would be so much fun. And it was. They were such troopers getting on that row boat and paddling to all the perfect spots where I wanted to shoot them. I can’t wait for their wedding day coming up in June!

This is the month of engagement sessions and I LOVE IT.

Engagements sessions are seriously one of my favorite things to shoot. I get to hang out with my couples, share some laughs, explore new areas…all while creating some pretty awesome photos that they get to enjoy forever. It doesn’t get much better than that. I get to know my couples on a real level. It’s not a meeting in a coffee shop, and it’s not their wedding day…it’s just a day to literally hang out and get to know one another. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Brynn & Matt are a perfect example.
Shooting their engagement session was so much fun! You may recognize this locations from my RESONATE shoot. After I shot there, I knew I HAD to bring an awesome couple here. And I’m so glad it was these two. We covered so much ground and did so much exploring…exactly what I love. Brynn and Matt, thank you so much for hanging out with me! You both know I simply adore you and I can’t WAIT for your wedding to get here! It’s going to be so much fuuuun. Woo!

AMANDA & JARON / ENGAGED.

A mutual friend sets you up.
You email each other for a few months.
You buy a plane ticket to meet in real life.

*everything is perfect. love at first meet*

A little over three months later, you propose.
Seven months after that you will be married. Together. Forever.

Words can’t begin to describe how much I love Amanda and Jaron and their crazy/awesome love story. These two are meant for each other, there is no doubt about that. I hardly had to say one word during their session…their connection and giddy interactions is something I could photograph all day long. I can’t wait to see these two again on their wedding day. It’s going to be one fine day. Indeed it is.

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

Thought I would share Betsy and Chris’ engagement session today. These two are quite lovely. Shooting with them in Seattle’s first little bit of sunshine was a lot of fun! I almost forgot what it was like to shoot when the sun is out. Seattle has been so beautiful lately…it truly does become a different city when the sun is shining. Betsy and Chris, thanks for hanging out with me and letting me document your love for one another…I had a great time!
